I’m an art and geography hybrid, having formally studied both fine art and cultural geography. I use my mixed-media artwork and installations to interpret places and landscapes. My creative practice begins outside, absorbing and capturing my surroundings. In the studio I sketch and play, assembling my discoveries into an abstract vocabulary of pattern, shape, texture, and color. Although it isn’t always apparent, all my work springs from nature. I try to bring new insight and a fresh perspective to familiar, ordinary, and overlooked elements of the landscape.
